  • A vehicle fire in the Tartan Court neighborhood early Sunday morning destroyed a sports utility vehicle and damaged a nearby car.
A neighbor first spotted the burning 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe parked on the street outside 419 Tartan Drive about 4:30 a.m., said Frank Bailey, the fire chief of Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown.
Responding firefighters found the Tahoe fully engulfed in flames.
The blaze destroyed that vehicle and caused fire damage to the front end of an adjacent Chevrolet Impala.
The owners of the two vehicles are reportedly brothers although it was not immediately known if both men are residents of Tartan Court. No further information about the owners was available Monday.
Firefighters remained on the scene for about an hour.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated by the state fire marshal's office.
    No injuries were reported.
