  • Mary Ann Vible, 90, a native Delawarean, of Middletown, DE and formerly of Pike Creek passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 with her loving family by her side at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit in Christiana Hospital, Newark. Born on October 15, 1922 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Sofia (Pacontek) Kowal. In May of 1947, Mary married the love of her life, Paul Everett Vible. Together they were blessed with five children. As a homemaker, Mary enjoyed being home with the children and later her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinnacle, bowling and loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and dear friend to many. Mary will be greatly missed by the numerous lives she touched and enriched along the way. She was a member of St. John the Beloved in Wilmington and in recent years attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Middletown. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Paul; sister, Anne Bielicki and two brothers, Walter and Bennie Kowal. Mary leaves a legacy of wonderful memories to her five children, Jackie Levy, Linda Vible, Paul Vible, Mark Vible and his wife, Richelle and Kathy Reed and her husband, Dave; nine grandchildren, Zachary and Matt Levy, Mark, Andy and Sarah Vible, Sophie, Seth and Julie Reed and Sonya Cordell; a great-grandson, Everett Levy; sister, Helen Vible and sister-in-law, Betty Leadley. On behalf of Mary’s family they would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Seasons Hospice IPU for the wonderful care they provided to their mother. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 1 at St. John the Beloved, 907 Milltown Road in Wilmington, DE, where friends may visit with her family one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington. Memorial contributions can be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
