  • This month, Hearing Services of Delaware is combining their passion for "Helping Delaware Hear Well Again" with their desire to support those individuals that have been touched by breast cancer by supporting The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. The DBCC began in 1991 as a small group of community volunteers and is now the only organization in the state of Delaware solely focused on breast health issues. This provides Hearing Services of Delaware with an opportunity to support an organization that is committed to helping people with breast cancer.
"Breast cancer is an issue that touches many people on a very personal level," said Dr. Stacy Sanders, owner/audiologist. "Everyone knows someone – a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother or friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer."
The Audiologists at Hearing Services of Delaware have been helping people hear better for over 20 years.
"Our goal is to help people hear better – and we do that by establishing long-term relationships, not just by selling hearing aids," said Dr. Sanders. "Some of our patients and their family members have been personally affected by breast cancer. We want to show them our love and support."
One way that Hearing Services of Delaware plans to do that is through their patient referral program. In October, Hearing Services of Delaware is using a special pink referral card for patients to give to their friends or family members for a complimentary hearing screening. For every hearing instrument sold during the month of October, a portion of the proceeds will be used to support The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
The mission of the DBCC is to empower our community by raising awareness of breast health issues through outreach, education and support services "and that is directly in line with what we stand for," said Dr. Sanders. "We are really happy to be able to work with them."
Hearing Services of Delaware is located at 104 Sleepy Hollow Drive, Middletown, off of Bunker Hill Road in the Cahill Building, and also in the Glasgow area at 28 Peoples Plaza, Newark.
