  • Townsend recently launched its online bill payment system for trash and recycling services, as well as tax payments.
To access the online payment system, visit townsend.delaware.gov and click on the “Pay Trash & Taxes Online” link on the left side of the page.
To pay a trash bill, residents will need to provide their utility account identification number and their utility account PIN. To pay a tax bill, residents will need their map, parcel and unit number, as well as their tax account PIN.
All those numbers are available on the town issued bills.
Trash and tax payments also can still be made directly at the Townsend Municipal Building at 661 South St. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., by dropping a payment through the mail slot or via U.S. Postal Service. Cash, cashier checks, personal checks and money orders are accepted at town hall, however credit card and debit payments can only be made online.
