  • Cell phone theft suspect sought by Middletown police

  • Middletown police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say stole a cell phone from a Wawa employee on Dec. 1.

  • Middletown police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say stole a cell phone from a Wawa employee on Dec. 1.
    Police on Wednesday released a surveillance photo of the man, who reportedly entered the Wawa at 528 W. Main St. about 11:30 a.m. before snatching the employee's Apple iPhone 4S from the store's counter.
    The man, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30, was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the letters "MOT" on the front and a tan baseball cap.
    The stolen cell phone is white and was covered in a "Hello Kitty" protective case.
    Anyone with information about the theft or the suspect's identity is asked to call the Middletown Police Department at (302) 376-9950. Anonymous information also can be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers 1-800-TIP-3333.
