  • A 25-year-old convicted sex offender from the Townsend-area is wanted by police after he failed to re-register earlier this month.
    Michael Jackson has been missing since Dec. 5 and might still be in the Townsend area, according to a Delaware State Police spokesman.
    A Tier III high-risk sex offender, Jackson was convicted in 2004 of second-degree rape involving a victim between the ages of 1 and 11, according to the Delaware Sex Offender Central Registry.
    He reportedly had been living at 904 Blackbird Landing Road as of Sept. 5.
    Jackson is described as being 6’1” and about 185 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his hands, forearms and upper arms, as well as his neck, chest and back.
    He also is known to use the alias “Christopher Jackson” and drives a black Ford F-250 pick-up truck.
    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit at (302) 672-5306.
