  • Louise F. Staats Poore of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. She was 93.Mrs. Poore was born on April 29, 1920 in Milford, DE, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Farrow. She was a homemaker who also worked for several Delaware State agencies....

  • Louise F. Staats Poore of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. She was 93. Mrs. Poore was born on April 29, 1920 in Milford, DE, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Farrow. She was a homemaker who also worked for several Delaware State agencies. Louise enjoyed sewing and was great cook. She was a lifetime member of the Blackbird Democrat Club in which she served as the committee person for that area for over 60 years. She was also a life member of the Blackbird Community Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Perkins Staats; her second husband, C. Preston Poore; three sisters, Elizabeth “Betty”, Bobbie, and Charlotte; one brother, John; and her granddaughter, Debbie. She is survived by two sons, George Staats (Ethel), Jimmy Staats (Barbara Ann); two daughters, Bette Ann Pase (Austin), Ruth Ellen Shane (Kenny); two step-sons, Preston Poore (Doris) and Robert Poore; nine grandchildren, Ray Staats, Terri Lynn Staats, Barbara Tatman, Keith Shane, Perk Staats, Kristin Langton, John Pase, Jean Thomas, and Jennifer Hall; step-grandchildren, Kirsten, Sara, David, Katie, and Robbie; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Nowland and Frances Nabb (Charles). A viewing will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 12 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm.
