  • State police are investigating the double suicide of a man and a woman from Clayton whose bodies were found inside a parked vehicle at Blackbird State Forest near Townsend on Jan. 2.
The bodies of the 32-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were discovered by a state forest employee in a campground at the Tybout Tract in the 500 block of Blackbird Forest Road about 1:10 p.m., according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The bodies were later taken to the state medical examiner’s office, which determined their deaths to have been the result of suicide.
Police are not releasing the names of the couple.
Shavack said detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
However, no further information would be released, he said.
