  • A Middletown man was charged last week in connection with the Christmas Day robbery of a Mount Pleasant-area gas station.
Paul P. Forbes, 31, was arrested a Townsend-area home on Jan. 3 after detectives were able to link him to the robbery through video surveillance footage and interviews, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
According to police, Forbes entered the Valero gas station at 4434 Summit Bridge Road just before 3 p.m. and walked behind the sales counter, where he confronted a 20-year-old female cashier.
Forbes allegedly implied he had a handgun, threatened the cashier and demanded money from the register.
He then fled the area with an unspecified amount of cash.
Forbes is charged with first-degree robbery.
He is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington on a $15,000 secured bond, Shavack said.
