  • Most local schools will be closing early today due to an impeding snowstorm expected to bring 4 to 8 inches to the region today and tonight. Some won't be opening at all.

  • Most local schools will be closing early today due to an impeding snowstorm expected to bring 4 to 8 inches to the region today and tonight.
    Some won't be opening at all.
    The Appoquinimink School District and MOT Charter both announced this morning that they would only be opening for half a day.
    Appoquinimink middle and high schools will dismiss at 11:20 a.m., while elementary schools will dismiss at 12:20 p.m.
    MOT Charter will dismiss all students at 12:30 p.m.
    Those schools joined the Smyrna, Caeser Rodney and Capital school districts, which last night announced they would be dismissing early today due to the anticipated snows. Brandywine, Indian River and Polytech school districts also made early dismissal announcements today.
    St. Anne's Episcopal School in Middletown will be closed today, along with Providence Creek Academy, Positive Outcomes Charter and Odyssey Charter.
    St. Georges Technical High School already was slated to be closed today, due to an inservice day for all New Castle County technical high schools.
