St. Georges soccer team attended the All-State banquet last week.

St. Georges Tech Soccer officially ended their 2013 season by attending the All-State Banquet last Sunday, held to recognize All-State Soccer Selections from the 2013 season.

The Hawks stretched their consecutive winning season streak to 5 straight years and finished the regular season 10-4-1, earning a #3 Seed in the Division II State Tournament. Their season ended earlier than expected as they were defeated by Delaware Military Academy in three rounds of Penalty Kicks in the Quarterfinals of the State Tournament.

The Hawks also earned their second straight Blue Hen Conference Flight B Championship. Seven players earned honors during the season. Bryce Lamers earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. TJ Baker and Jason Lewandowski earned 2nd Team All-Conference Honors. Jordan Bailey and Robin Jamieson earned 1st Team All-Conference Honors. Casey Hayden earned 1st Team All-Conference Honors, as well as 1st Team All-State Honors.

Senior Helb was St. Georges' most decorated player this year, earning 1st Team All-Conference Honors, and 1st Team All-State Honors. He was named BHC Flight B Player of the Year, and he was named to the Delaware Soccer TOP XI, honoring the top 11 players in the state of Delaware.

The Hawks will graduate a number of key players, but they can count on big time leadership and production from rising seniors in Jordan Bailey and TJ Baker. A strong supporting cast in Toppan Lazarus, Drew Parker, Mitch Moran, Vito Montgomery, Ky-Air Hamilton, and others, will help to sure up the 2014 squad. The Hawks hope to make a run at a repeat Conference Championship, as well as another tournament berth in the 2014 season.
