  • M.O.T.-area schools closed Monday due to forecast of 4-8 inches

  • The Appoquinimink School District, MOT Charter School, St. Georges Technical High School and St. Anne's Episcopal School will be closed today due to a forecast calling for 4 to 8 inches of snowfall between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • The Appoquinimink School District, MOT Charter School, St. Georges Technical High School and St. Anne's Episcopal School will be closed today due to a forecast calling for 4 to 8 inches of snowfall between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
    All Appoquinimink-sponsored after-school activities also have been cancelled, while office in the district, as well as offices at St. Georges Tech, will be open, although subject to change as weather conditions develop.
    All state offices in New Castle County also will be closed today.
    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning that will remain in effect until 5 p.m. today. A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected.
    This morning's rain is expected to turn into a wintery mix of rain, sleet and snow sometime around 10 a.m. in southern New Castle County, before transitioning completely to snow as temperatures drop below freezing after 11 a.m.
    Accumulation forecasts predict 4 to 8 inches of snow in New Castle County, with the possibility of 4 inches northern Kent County. Sussex County is predicted to receive less than an inch of snow.
