  • Nine M.O.T.-area students earn nominations to U.S. service academies

  • Nine high school seniors from the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area received nominations last week from Delaware’s Congressional delegation to attend one or more of the nation’s U.S. service academies.

  • Nine high school seniors from the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area received nominations last week from Delaware’s Congressional delegation to attend one or more of the nation’s U.S. service academies.
    Nominations from members of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, the vice president or the Secretaries of the Air Force, Army and Navy are prerequisites for attending the academies, but do not guarantee admittance.
    U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, U.S. Sen. Chris Coons and Congressman John Carney named the following students as their principal or alternate nominees:
    U.S. Air Force Academy
    Richard Licata of Middletown – Middletown High School
    Jonathan McConomy of Bear – Appoquinimink High School
    U.S. Naval Academy
    Kyle Burrus of Middletown – Middletown High School
    Wyatt Jennings of Townsend – Delaware Military Academy
    Anthony Mancini of Middletown – Salesianum School
    Daniel Turk of Middletown – Salesianum School
    Ethan Yerger of Middletown – Salesianum School
    U.S. Military Academy at West Point
    Dominic DelRusso of Middletown – Munich International School
    Jarrett Ksiazek of Middletown – Cab Calloway School of the Arts and Delaware Technical Community College
    Jonathan McConomy of Bear – Appoquinimink High School
    Daniel Turk of Middletown – Salesianum School
