  • Middletown High’s AFJROTC Drill Team earns competition honors

  • Cadets in Middletown High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) took home four first-place trophies in the 15th-annual Drills and Colors Classic at Glasgow High School on Feb. 1.

  • Cadets in Middletown High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) took home four first-place trophies in the 15th-annual Drills and Colors Classic at Glasgow High School on Feb. 1.
    Teams from 16 schools in five states participated in the competition, according Major Daniel Alvarez III, an AFJROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at Middletown High.
    The drill team earned first-place trophies in Armed Inspection, led by Mariah Harkins; Unarmed Inspection, led by Zack Roberts; Armed Color Guard, led by Diego Aponte; and Armed Regulation Drill, led by Tyler Parsons.
    The cadets also won a second-place trophy in Unarmed Color Guard, led by Diego Aponte.
    Isabel Arellano won third place out of 300 cadets who participated in Knockout competition, while Zack Roberts won ninth place and Jackson Tunnell won tenth place.
