A couple from Elkton, Md., is facing criminal charges in connection with a residential burglary near Middletown last month.
Justin Chesnik, 28, and Rosalie D'Alessandro, 26, are accused of entering a home in the 500 block of Beaston Road, north of Middletown, on Jan. 7 and making off with jewelry and other items, according to New Castle County Police Department spokeswoman Officer First Class Tracey Duffy.
Investigators believe Chesnik and D'Alessando also are responsible for additional burglaries outside New Castle County, Duffy said.
D'Alessandro was arrested following a Feb. 10 search of the couple's home in the 200 block of Blue Grass Drive, where police reportedly found items that were stolen in the Beaston Road burglary.
Chesnik is currently being held in New Jersey on charges stemming from a separate incident and will be arraigned in Delaware following his release, Duffy said.
Each is facing charges of burglary, conspiracy, three counts of theft and criminal mischief.
D'Alessandro has since been released on a $16,100 unsecured bail, Duffy said.
