  • Fifth-grader wins Cedar Lane Elementary spelling bee

  • Fifth-grader Ryan Wallace earned the title of Top Speller at Cedar Lane Elementary School on Feb. 20 by correctly spelling “regnal” during the school’s spelling bee.

  • Fifth-grader Ryan Wallace earned the title of Top Speller at Cedar Lane Elementary School on Feb. 20 by correctly spelling “regnal” during the school’s spelling bee.
    In doing so, he advances to the state-level spelling bee at St. Marks High School on March 1.
    Fifth-grader Alex Nichols won second-place in the contest, which included two students from each fourth- and fifth-grade homeroom, who were selected through classroom-level spelling bees held earlier this month.
    Fourth-grade homeroom representatives included Cavan Conway, Austin Ferrell, Lamont Belvey, Abby Nguyen, Danny Migliocco, Ryan Ford, Chloe Jordan, Jordan Linsmeier, John Kuss and Hailey Beres.
    Fifth-grade homeroom representatives included Brooke Wallace, Raymond Kelly, Hannah Duke, Sakhee Desai, Milo Molina, Jason Ricker, Nylah Whitaker and Emma Drake.
