The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is out with its second report, and as scary as is, it could have been much more so.


Granted, the report says “recent climate-related extremes, such as heat waves, droughts, floods, cyclones, and wildfires, reveal significant vulnerability and exposure of some ecosystems and many human systems to current climate variability.”


And, yes, it warns of the “breakdown of food systems linked to warming, drought, flooding, and precipitation variability and extremes.”


But then there’s THIS:


“The I.P.C.C. is far from alarmist — on the contrary, it is a highly conservative organization,” ...
