  • Lums Pond State Park will host an overnight camping experience for the whole family this weekend only.
Provided by Delaware Outdoor Family, in conjunction with the Children in Nature initiative, the overnight camping trip from April 12 to April 13 will be guided by park staff and include activities that daytime park visitors can’t experience, such as beach campfires and nighttime astronomy.
The Lums Pond camping excursion is one of two overnight experiences Delaware Outdoor Family is providing this spring. A similar event at Trap Pond State Park in Laurel will offer a nighttime hayride, an evening owl prowl and a morning pontoon boat tour from May 17 to May 18.
Pre-registration is required for both events and can be made by contacting the host park. Lums Pond State Park can be reached by calling (302) 368-6989, while Trap Pond State Park can be reached at (302) 875-5163.
Additional information about the overnight camping trips can be found online at destateparks.com/dof.
