Appo boys defeated Charter 16-5 Thursday afternoon in boys lacrosse.

Cross Ferrara and John Dunbar each scored five goals to lead Appoquinimink to a 16-5 victory over visiting Charter School of Wilmington Thursday evening.

The Jaguars dominated play throughout most of the game, played under sunny, but chilly, and windy weather conditions.

Appoquinimink gained quick momentum scoring four goals in the first period. Eric Mack scored the first of his two goals at the 9:38 mark with a blast from the left of Charter goal-keeper Addison Giansiracusa. Ferrara then scored at 7:26 after stealing the ball from the goalkeeper and flipping it in from close range. The Ferrara scored at 5:37 and the rout was on. The Jaguars would score once more in the first period, then three more times in the second period before Charter could beat Jags goalie keeper Noah Given for a 7-1 lead at the half.

Charter would muster more offense in the third quarter, scoring four times, but Appo matched the Force goal for goal, maintaining a comfortable six goal lead at 11-5 with twelve minutes remaining in the contest.

The Jaguars would then score five unanswered goals in the final period to take home the 16-5 victory.

Charter is now 3-5, while Appo improved to 7-1.

After Spring Break, Appoquinimink will host Polytech on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m.

Charter’s next game is set for Tuesday, April 22 at home against DMA at 3:30 p.m.
