The Appoquinimink boys' lacrosse team finished the season with a 13-2 record and won the Blue Hen Conference Flight A crown for the second year in a row.
The Appoquinimink boys’ lacrosse team defeated Concord 10-7 last Thursday evening. The victory gave the Jaguars a fine 13-2 record for the 2014 season, and the team’s second consecutive Flight A Championship under Head Coach Chris Rutter.
In the Concord game, Cross Ferrara scored four goals and Zach Bowed added two tallies. Noah Given recorded eight saves in the game.
The team won three in a row to finish the season, and four out of their last five games.
The boys are now wearing red shoelaces in honor of one of their teammates, Hunter Mazzio, who is in ICU at Nemours after 2 heart surgeries last week. They will continue to wear the red laces as they go into the playoffs thinking of their friend.
The Jaguars will host Milford in the opening round of the DIAA Boys Lacrosse Tournament tonight, May 21, at 7 p.m.
