On May 31 at 11:30 a.m. a white male, later identified as Dylan Lewandowski, 19, of Middletown, entered the Artisans Bank at 2424 Pulaski Highway while wearing a motorcycle helmet. He presented a demand note to a teller who complied, turning over cash. He then fled.
On June 1, at approximately 1:05 a.m., troopers on patrol saw two masked men approaching the Antique Station store at 1697 S. Dupont Highway, in St. Georges. The troopers saw the men break a glass door.
The troopers confronted the suspects, who fled on foot. One, Lewandowski, was immediately apprehended. The other, Thomas Deleo, 21, of Middletown, was caught shortly thereafter during a traffic stop. Both were transported to Troop 2, where detectives linked Lewandowski to the earlier bank robbery.
Lewandowski was charged with robbery second degree, attempted burglary third degree, and related charges, police said. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on $29,100 secured bail.
