  • The Middletown Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a man who reportedly tried to abduct two girls in the Middletown Village neighborhood about 6:30 p.m. tonight.
Police said the girls, each between the ages of 6 and 8, were playing in an unfenced rear yard in the 400 block of West Harvest Lane, near Fields Way, when the man yelled out to them and demanded they get into his car. The girls did not comply and the man drove east on West Harvest Lane.
The man is described as black, between the ages of 25 and 35, with short hair. He last was seen wearing a blue baseball cap, light blue pants, a red shirt and black sunglasses. The man was seen driving a red, four-door sedan with several black stickers and one blue, possibly with white writing, in the rear window. The vehicle also may have a broken passenger side mirror.
Anyone with information about the man or the incident or suspect is asked to call Detective Tim Hoffecker at 376-9950 immediately.
