Event from 8 a.m. to noon will feature tours and a drawing for a four-digit Delaware license plate.
As a special event to celebrate the new building the Division of Motor Vehicles building near Delaware City, the DMV is holding a public open house on Saturday, July 26 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Numerous family-friendly activities, refreshments, car seat checks, face painting and building tours will all be available free to visitors.
There will also be a drawing to win a four-digit license plate, as well as E-ZPass On-the-Go transponder giveaways.
The Delaware City DMV opened on June 17 and will be fully operational during the open house to allow customers to complete vehicle inspection, renew their vehicle registration, renew their driver license or identification card and any other service they might need from the DMV.
The Delaware City DMV is located between Route 1 and Route 13, a quarter-mile south of the Route 72 overpass. Coming from Route 1 customers should take exit 152 onto Route 72/Wrangle Hill Road and follow the signs to the DMV.
From Route 13 it is less than two miles north of the St. George's Bridge. The address is 2101 Mid County Drive, New Castle.
The Delaware City DMV is located on a 24-acre campus and boasts a seven-bay inspection lane, four drive-through teller windows, and 30 customer counter spots, all in a 42,000 square foot building.
