Driver and passenger suffer minor injuries.

The male driver and female passenger of a black Hummer H-2 were transported to Christiana Hospital in Middletown with minor injuries after their car was rear-ended by a Volvo tractor trailer.

According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred July 28 at approximately 2:55 p.m. The couple was traveling southbound on Route 301.

After the collision the Hummer went off the road and hit a fence adjacent to a corn field near the intersection of Old Summit Bridge Road and Route 301.

The male operator of the tractor trailer was not injured and the accident is still being investigating, according to police.

Traffic southbound on Route 301 came to a brief halt when emergency crews arrived at the scene.
