  • A total of 13 thefts from cars were reported to Middletown Police in the first 30 days of July, according to a press release by the police department.
“I can’t say that it’s higher than last July,” said MPD Lieutenant Michael Kelly. “We just want people to take care of themselves and to lock up their valuables.”
The majority of the thefts occurred when valuables were left in plain sight and cars were unsecured, Kelly said.
Neither the press release nor Lt. Kelly mentioned the specific neighborhoods or businesses in Middletown that have been targeted by the perpetrators.
“We are hoping that the next press release will be about the arrests that we’ve made,” Kelly said. “We’re following all leads.”
Police advice residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.
