  • Construction of a Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Middletown is approaching completion, and hiring for about 150 positions is underway, according to the Kentucky-based restaurant chain.
Managing partner for Texas Roadhouse Ahern Kelley said that he is excited and happy that people in Middletown will soon be able to enjoy their Western-style offerings.
“We're looking forward to bringing legendary food and legendary service to the local community,” Kelley said.
The grand opening of the 7,200-square-foot steakhouse will be in mid-October. The restaurant is located on U.S. Route 301, in the under-construction Westown Town Centre commercial complex, near Walmart.
Ahern said that the restaurant is already hiring for many positions including servers, hosts, and kitchen staff. Applications are available at 111 Patriot Dr. Suite C, in Middletown. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Candidates are also encouraged to apply online at http://apply.texasroadhouse.com.
The steakhouse restaurant chain operates in 46 states, including Delaware, with locations in Bear, Camden, and Seaford.
At the Middletown Mayor and Council meeting on August 4, the council approved the subdivision of the parcel where the restaurant is located. The parcel division separates the restaurant building from its adjacent parking lot. Rick Woodin of Woodin & Associates, the company that represents the developer, told council members that the subdivision is for refinancing purposes only.
