Harry Potter star Michael Gambon has been tapped to star in HBO's three-hour miniseries adaptation of J.K. Rowling's book The Casual Vacancy, Deadline.com reports.
The Casual Vacancy tells the story of a small, seemingly idyllic English village that is brimming with war  — war between the rich and poor, war between teenagers and their parents, war between husbands and wives and war between teachers and students.
Hot, hot, hot TV eye candy!
Gambon will play Howard Mollison, the owner of the Pagford deli. Also starring in the project are Notes on a Scandal's Julia McKenzie as Howard's wife, Shirley, Rufus Jones as their son, Miles, and Keeley Hawes as Miles; wife, Samantha. Rowling is working on the project with the BBC, which announced plans to adapt The Casual Vacancy for the small screen in December 2012 three months after the novel was released.
