The carnival features thrill rides, a Ferris wheel, children's rides, games, food and refreshments.

Customers can buy a $25 unlimited ride bracelet good for one night. Discount coupons for $2 off the bracelets will be available at many local merchants.

Proceeds from the sale of carnival tickets will help raise money for the Fourth of July parade, festivities and fireworks in Smyrna.

The Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Foundation is an independent group organized to provide the community with a day-long celebration of American independence. Anyone wishing to help the committee may call Joanne Masten at 653-6235 or Bob Merrill at 653-6809.

This year’s July 4th celebration will be a combined celebration of American independence and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Town of Smyrna. The celebration will include a gigantic parade in the morning, followed by a carnival, free video games, food and activities at George Wright Municipal Park, and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
