Men of Simpson, a Gospel choir from Simpson United Methodist Church in Wilmington, will present a concert at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Odessa Sunday, July 23 at 3 p.m.
The 20-member choir began in 1995 as the Men’s Day Choir.
In addition to performing regularly at Sunday worship services at Simpson United Methodist Church, the choir has also appeared with the following renowned gospel music artists: Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams, The Spiritual QC’s and The Rance Allen Group.
Men of Simpson have also traveled up and down the East Coast to perform in churches small and large.
“We are very thrilled to have Men of Simpson share their musical gifts with us,” said Rev. Karin Tunnéll, Pastor at St. Paul’s. “I have heard this talented group several times, including our Annual Conference recently and they are always inspiring!”
Tunnéll also noted this concert is part of St. Paul’s ongoing commitment to bring a wide range of outstanding music to the MOT community.
St. Paul’s recently hosted Crossflame, an award-winning 60-member youth choir and orchestra from Western North Carolina.
In August, St. Paul’s will host a handbell concert by Bells of the Bay, a community handbell choir from Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
There is no fee to attend either event, but free will offerings will be taken.
