    • The Freedom Center for Independent Living in Middletown invites the community to a Game Night at the Newark Senior Center, 200 S. Chapel Dr., Newark from 5 to 8 p.m.
    The van will leave from the Freedom Center at 4 p.m.

Saturday, May 30
    • Delaware Boots on the Ground will host a Memorial Day Blue Rocks game event at 6:05 p.m. at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.
    There will be fireworks at the end of the game.  
    For those interested in attending and sitting in the DEBOTG section, the price for tickets is $10. Tickets may be purchased by emailingSBrooks@cblh.com or calling 888-5358.
    • The “Kanefsky Krew” Family Team is holding Bowl for Babies from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mid-County Lanes in Middletown.
    March for Babies, formerly WalkAmerica, is the March of Dimes’ biggest fundraiser and continues to build on years of success.
    For just $25 per person, participants will receive three games, a pair of rented bowling shoes a free game of laser tag and a $5 game card for the Family Fun Galaxy.

    • The Middletown Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Forest Presbyterian Church in Middletown.
    The market offers home-grown produce, bakery items, plants, cheese, artisan breads, organic vegetables, bedding plants, hanging baskets, organic vegetables and herb transplants.
    • Enjoy hayrides, a woodland walk, a Guiding Paws dog show, children’s activities and more than 40 entertaining and educational exhibits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Woodside Farm Creamery, Hockessin.
    Farm-fresh food for sale will include produce from local farms, as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, Delaware-made scrapple and Woodside Farm’s ice cream, made right on the premises.
    The event, which is co-sponsored by University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, is free but visitors are asked to bring nonperishable food in support of the Food Bank of Delaware.

    • WJBR is holding Freedom from Seizures Stroll and Fun Run at the Brandywine Park on North Park Drive in Wilmington with registration at 8 a.m. and the event starting at 9 a.m.
    The event benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware.
    The registration fees are $16 for pre-registration and $20 for day of event registration.

    • The Cecil County Hounds and Sportsman Association will host No Limit Texas Hold ‘em Sunday, May 31 at 1 p.m.
    The buy in is $50 for $12,000 in chips.
    Food and drinks will be available.

    • Prudential Fox will host a Happy Hour for Delaware Hospice at 5:30 p.m. at C.W. Harborside, 110 S. West St., Wilmington.

    • An Evening Garden Tour will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Priapi Gardens, 5996 Augustine Herman Highway, Cecilton, Md.
    Stroll through Priapi’s gardens and grounds and enjoy Maryland wines, fine, light food and relaxing music. Coverage of the Belmont Stakes starts at 5:30 p.m. on wide screen TVs under the big tent.

Sunday, June 7
    • Mount Harmon Plantation will host a Colonial Plantation Picnic from noon to 4 p.m.
    This is one of the best times to visit Mount Harmon and experience its colonial heritage. This year’s picnic features a gourmet Eastern Shore picnic buffet with mini crab cakes, country ham, fried chicken and summer salads. There will be a silent auction full of great gifts, antiques and specialty items donated from area businesses to raise funds for Mount Harmon programs and projects.
    Events include plantation wagon rides, which are a great way to get out and see Mount Harmon’s scenic beauty, and colonial demonstrations and performances, which will bring Mount Harmon’s colonial history to life.
    Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children. The ticket price includes admission to the museum, a gourmet Eastern Shore buffet, and colonial performances and demonstrations.
