Thursday, Aug. 27
    • The Appoquinimink Boys & Girls Club will host a carnival and fair at the Middletown Auto Park lot on U.S. 301 from 1 to 10 p.m.
    There will be rides, food, games, free entertainment, a dunk tank and more.
    For more information, call 378-7620. The carnival and fair will also be held from 1 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30.

Saturday, Aug. 29
    • The ultimate Parrot-head Party is coming to Middletown as Spirit Productions presents a collection of Jimmy Buffett hits for a fun-filled evening at 6:45 p.m.
    Renowned celebrity impersonator Maurice “Mo” Michaux will not only bring Margaritaville to Delaware, but also perform a series of hit songs from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
    Doors open for the Parrot-head party at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

    • The Middletown Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Forest Presbyterian Church in Middletown.
    The market offers home-grown produce, bakery items, plants, cheese, artisan breads, organic vegetables, bedding plants, hanging baskets and herb transplants.
    • A Community Flea Market will be held at 301 Plaza, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    The market is free and open to the public. Those wishing to participating must register by the date of the market by calling Walt at 376-4301 and must bring their own table.
    • The Motorcycle Accident Victims will host its 15th annual Bike Show and Blues Festival at Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson of Smyrna from 10 a.m. to noon.
    All bikes are welcome. The cost is $15 per person or $20 per couple and includes a poker run, 50/50s, trophy for the first, second and third place in the bike show, poker run hand, music by Stevie Larocca & The Witch Doctors and the Blue Cat Blues Band.

Tuesday, Sept. 1
    • The Blackbird Community Association will sponsor Limit and No Limit Cash Card Games starting at 7 p.m. at Premier Poker Room, 1055 Walker Road, Hamlet Shopping Center, Dover.

    • Milburn Orchards in Elkton, Md. Will have “U-Pick” apples and raspberries, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
    This event will continue through Monday, Sept. 7.
    • The Middletown Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Forest Presbyterian Church in Middletown.

Saturday, Sept. 12
    • The 23rd Annual Amish Country Bike Tour will start at Legislative Mall in Dover at 8 a.m. The tour consists of 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100-mile flatland loops through Delaware’s Amish countryside, plus a 25-mile competitive race.
    An after-tour party will feature a catered barbecue picnic lunch, a live blues band, health exhibits and activities such as yoga and yard games. For more information about the bike tour or to register, go to www.visitdover.com.

    The cost is $4 for members and $5 for non-members.

    • Opera Delaware Quintet brings opera’s greatest hits to the Everett at 3 p.m.
    The Opera Delaware Quintet will perform favorite arias from operas by Puccini, Johann Strauss, Rossini, Sorozabal, Verdi, Donizetti and Mozart.
    Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for A.C.T. members.
