• Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra will make their way to The Everett Theatre in Middletown at 7 p.m. for a concert to benefit the theatre.
Spirit Productions will present “An Evening at the Everett” with Elvis impersonator Jim Baraone and Frank Sinatra impersonator Maurice “Mo” Michaux.

• The Middletown Tennis Association will host an Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Appoquinimink High School tennis courts.
Current and prospective members are welcome to come and try out six of the newest courts in the area. Two of the courts will be available for instruction – youngsters on one, adults on the other, while the remaining four courts will be used for Round Robin play. Prizes and souvenirs will be awarded, free food and cold drinks will be available.

• Sam Kalb will host a picnic open to the community featuring “The Adlers,” a seven-piece German band, from 6 to 10 p.m., at 711 Blackbird Forest Road, between Townsend and Smyrna, with two pavilions, a large dance pad, and lots of shade trees.
Food will be on sale, or bring your own picnic dinner.
The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. The fee includes beer and sodas for adults and sodas for children.

• The Dutch Country Farmers Market in Middletown will host their annual Buggy Run Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration is free. There will be trophies awarded, door prizes and raffles, food and craft vendors.

• The Wilmington Rowing Center will host the 18th Annual Howard M. Smith Diamond State Regatta on tranquil Noxontown Pond in Middletown at 8 a.m.
This regatta brings more than 1,000 rowers from Maine to Florida to Middletown for the day, where a race will start every six minutes.

• M.O.T. Open Mic Poetry will feature Bob Chartowich at 1 p.m. at the Gilbert W. Perry Jr. Center for the Arts on Main Street, Middletown.
The reading will be followed by an open mic. All poets are welcome to read or listen.
Saturday, Aug. 1
• Delaware City’s Music in the Park Series will feature the Newark Community Band, who will lead off the season with marches, show tunes and classical favorite.
The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. in the downtown waterfront park. The concert is free.
Saturday, Aug. 2
• Inaugural Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company will hold a Car Show and Swap with registration starting at 10 a.m.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 20 vehicles and dash plaques will be given to all participants.
All makes and models are welcome. The entry fee is $10. Food will be available from the Little Creek Ladies Auxiliary. All proceeds will benefit the fire company and auxiliary.
