The crime happened at the bank in the Giant supermarket off of East Main Street (Route 299), near Brick Mill Road.

PNC Bank inside the Giant Supermarket in Middletown was robbed on Monday, Jan. 9.

At about 6:30 p.m., an unknown white male suspect entered the bank in the supermarket off of East Main Street (Route 299) and demanded money.

The suspect implied that he was armed, police said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the shopping center, heading toward an adjacent community, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, between the ages of 20-25 years old, about 5-feet-7-inches tall, with brown hair, and a full, brown beard.

The suspect was reportedly wearing large-framed sunglasses, a dark blue hoodie, blue jeans, and black gloves at the time of the robbery.
