The 90th Delaware State Police and 83rd Municipal Recruit Class held graduation ceremonies Feb. 10 at Dover High School.

The ceremonies celebrated and recognized the completion of law enforcement training of 23 Delaware state troopers and 30 law enforcement officers representing the Bethany Beach Police Department, Bridgeville Police Department, Delaware River and Bay Authority, Delaware State University Police Department, Department of Natural Resources Police Environmental Control Unit, Department of Natural Resources Police Division of Fish and Wildlife, Department of Natural Resources Police Division of Parks and Recreation, Dewey Beach Police Department, Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement, Dover Police Department, Lewes Police Department, Milford Police Department, Millsboro Police Department, Newark Police Department, Seaford Police Department and the University of Delaware Police Department.

Dignitaries who addressed the graduates were Gov. John Carney; Lt. Gov. Bethany A. Hall-Long; Attorney General Matthew P. Denn; Department of Safety and Homeland Security Secretary Robert M. Coupe; and Col. Nathaniel McQueen Jr., superintendent, Delaware State Police.

An awards ceremony also recognized law enforcement members and recruits:

— Trooper Kyle W. Marvel, Delaware State Police, received the Governor’s Outstanding Recruit Trooper Award.

— Patrolman Logan Spicer, Delaware State Police, received the Attorney General’s Award for Legal Excellence.

— Trooper Sarah E. Bailey, Delaware State Police, received the Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security Award.

— Patrolman Casey J. Lewis, Milford Police Department, received the Delaware Police Chiefs’ Council Award.

— Trooper Eric E. Gumbs, Delaware State Police, received the Delaware State Police Academy Law Enforcement Core Values Award.

— Trooper Alexander I. Ricketts, Delaware State Police, received the Outstanding Proficiency in Police Firearms Award.

— Patrolman David J. Clark Jr., Bridgeville Police Department, received the Outstanding Proficiency in Police Firearms Award

— Trooper Anthony D. Tillman, Delaware State Police, received the Delaware State Police Academy Physical Fitness Award.

— Patrolman Richard S. Smith, Bridgeville Police Department, received the Delaware State Police Academy Physical Fitness Award.
