Dover Capital City Rotary Club and Delaware Technical Community College will dedicate the fourth annual Flags for Heroes campaign in conjunction with Memorial Day at 2 p.m. May 23 at the intersection of Route 13 and Scarborough Road.

Nearly 400, three-by-five-foot American flags to honor heroes will be displayed May 23-31.

Flags for Heroes acknowledges those who put their lives on the line for others, including military members, police, emergency medical technicians, firefighters and other first responders. It includes people who have made a difference in a sponsor’s life.

The list of honorees and donors will be published in the Delaware State News on May 25.

Sponsors pay $50 for a flag and should designate the person they wish to honor. The flags are reused each year as the display grows in size. Proceeds are designated for scholarships, youth programs, and military and civic groups.
