New Castle County Police have arrested three men on charges of breaking in to vehicles and stealing items in neighborhoods throughout New Castle County including the Middletown area.

From July 30 to Aug. 3, New Castle County Police received reports of burglary and thefts from vehicles in the communities of Appoquin Farms, Thomas Landing II, Stonefield, and Llangolen Estates.

On Aug. 3, police stopped a vehicle in which three men were riding in the Middletown-area community of Lakeside. Officers saw evidence implicating the men in the thefts, police said.

The three suspects, Colin McGowan, 20, Darren Jeffcoat, 24, and Dashawn Reexes, 19, were taken into custody without incident, police said.

Each suspect was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of felony theft, 10 counts of misdemeanor theft, six counts of misdemeanor conspiracy, felony conspiracy and criminal impersonation. 

McGowan was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $24,000 cash only bail while awaiting another court appearance.

Jeffcoat was arraigned and committed to Howard Young correctional institute after failing to post $27,160 cash only bail while awaiting another court appearance.

Reexes was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $24,250 cash only bail while awaiting another court appearance.
