DelDOT said the work north of Odessa is expected to be finished by 10 a.m. today. Structural components of the new U.S. 301 toll road bridge are being installed over Route 1.

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced this morning that Route 1 southbound remains closed between the Roth Bridge and Pole Bridge Road north of Odessa and isn't expected to re-open until 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 14.

The full roadway closure is needed to install structural components of the new U.S. 301 toll road bridge over Route 1.

During this time, drivers are advised to follow the posted detour to Exit 148/Lorewood Grove Road to U.S. Route 13 south to Pole Bridge Road and return to Route 1.

Due to the inconvenience caused by this extended closure the toll at the entrance of southbound Route 1 from Pole Bridge Road will be waived.
