A Wilmington juvenile was recently charged with burglarizing two Middletown businesses, The Metro Pub on Wood Street and the Patriot Armory on East Main Street.
Middletown police on Aug. 19 responded to the Metro Pub for a report of a burglary. The suspect forced entry into the business after hours and attempted to remove property before fleeing the area on foot.
Police responded to the Patriot Armory on Aug. 23 for a burglary investigation. The suspect forced entry into the business after hours and removed approximately $615 worth of property before fleeing in a dark colored SUV.
A juvenile suspect was later linked to both incidents in addition to incidents throughout New Castle County. The suspect was taken into custody by the New Castle County police.
Middletown Police then obtained arrest warrants for the juvenile on charges of burglary third degree, possession of burglar tools, theft under $1,500, criminal mischief under $1,000 damage property, burglary third degree, possession of burglar tools, criminal mischief under $1,000 damage property, attempted theft under $1,500, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.
The juvenile was arraigned on several arrest warrants and was committed to a secured facility for juveniles after failing to post bail.
