The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that Norfolk Southern Railroad will replace, repave and perform general maintenance on its railroad crossing on state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road between Red Lion Road and U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway, near Bear, from 5 a.m. Sept. 27 through midnight Oct. 4.

Northbound detour route will go from state Route/Bear Corbitt Road, turn right on Red Lion Road, turn left on U.S. 13 northbound, turn left on to Bear Road, turn left onto state Route 1 northbound ramp, take the Exit to U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway, turn left onto U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway and return to state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road.

Southbound detour route will go from state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road, turn left onto U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway, turn right onto state Route 1 southbound, take Exit 156, turn right on Red Lion Road and back to state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road.

Westbound detour route to Bear Road is left on state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road, turn left onto Red Lion Road, turn left on U.S. 13 northbound, turn left on Bear Road, turn left on state Route 1 northbound ramp, take the exit to U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway, turn left on U.S. 40/Pulaski Highway and return to state Route 7/Bear Corbitt Road.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
