Earlier this morning, northbound U.S. Route 13 (Dupont Parkway) north of Smyrna was restricted to one lane after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. Delaware State Police reported at 11:50 a.m. that the lane has been reopened.

Delaware State Police have reported the lane that was closed on northbound U.S. Route 13 north of Smyrna has been reopened, after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole earlier this morning.
Delaware State Police are on the scene of a single vehicle crash this morning, Oct. 6, at the intersection of U.S. Route 13 northbound (Dupont Parkway) and Eagles Nest Landing Road, between Smyrna and Townsend.
As a result of the crash, a utility pole is down, causing intermittent power outages as well as traffic delays, police said.
Traffic lights at intersections on U.S. Route 13 have been reported as being out near the crash and all the way to Route 299 in Odessa.
Police are urging drivers to use extreme caution when traveling through the area.
Crews from DELDOT and Delmarva Power are working in the affected areas.
