The Delaware Department of Transportation announced the closure of Clarks Corner Road between state Route 72/Wrangle Hill Road and Cox Neck Road, west of Delaware City, beginning 7 a.m. Oct. 16 through mid-December.

DelDOT’s contractor A-Del Construction is scheduled to begin the replacement of the existing concrete box beam superstructure with new concrete box beams and an asphalt concrete bridge deck overlay. Additional work includes the installation of guardrail, bridge rail and reconstruction of the roadway approaches both north and south of the new bridge.

Northbound detour route is Clarks Corner Road northbound to Cox Neck Road westbound to U.S. 13 northbound to state Route 72/Wrangle Hill Road eastbound and to state Route 9 northbound.

Southbound detour route is state Route 9 southbound to state Route 72/Wrangle Hill Road westbound to U.S. 13 southbound to Cox Neck Road eastbound and to Clarks Corner Road southbound.
