The shooting took place inside of a residence and two people sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an exchange of gunfire, police said.
A Wilmington man was recently charged in a Jan. 17 shooting in the 100 block of East Lockwood Street, Middletown police said.
Howard Watkins, 20, was charged with assault first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, home invasion, attempted robbery, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.
At 3:06 p.m. on Jan. 17, the Middletown police responded to the 100 block of E. Lockwood Street for a report of gun shots.
Investigation revealed the shooting took place inside of a residence in this area and two people sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an exchange of gunfire, police said.
During the investigation, detectives determined that Watkins was involved in the shooting. Watkins and a 24-year-old man both suffered gunshot wounds.
Watkins was charged, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2, and transported to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center after falling to post a $260,000 secured bond.
