Suspect caught in Maryland

A Middletown man has been charged with robbing the Fulton Bank on West Main Street, Middletown, on Tuesday, March 20.

At about 11:45 a.m. on that day, Middletown police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the bank.

The suspect, who arrived in a dark green sedan, entered the bank brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money, Middletown police said.

The suspect, later identified as Travis McNeal, 38, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in the vehicle, police said.

Maryland authorities were alerted, and McNeal was apprehended shortly afterward by the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.

McNeal also was wanted on unrelated Maryland charges and is in custody in Maryland. Arrest warrants are on file for McNeal and he is awaiting extradition back to Delaware, police said.

He is charged with first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and aggravated menacing.
