The MOT Rotary Club officially kicked off its Can Do Playground project April 10.
The project has been made possible through various grants and local donations, along with the land grant at the Charles Price Park from the town of Middletown.
Can Do Playground is a Boundless Playground, an integrated play area in which all children, including those with disabilities, can play together interactively. The objective is to design an area that is barrier-free, socially inviting and that contains play environment groupings. For more, visit boundlessplaygrounds.org.
MOT Can Do Playground Committee members John Nanni, Roxane Ferguson, Bill O'Neal and Chairman Randy Schurbon have been working on the project for the past two years. They are kicking the project off with a shovel dig celebration with Sylvia Umbreit of Recreation Resources USA, a Kennett Square-based company.
The playground will be ready for community access in a few weeks.
