She claimed a man tried to rob her, pulled a gun

A Newark woman has been charged with filing a false report with state police about an attempted armed robbery at a gas station.

Koshaunna Mack, 28, told police about an April 5 incident at the Shell Gas Station on Christiana Road in Bear, police said.

According to her, she had just finished fueling her vehicle up at the gas pump and proceeded to take her wallet off the trunk of her vehicle where she had placed it, police said.

A man was simultaneously reaching for the wallet, but she was able to grab it and enter her vehicle, locking the doors, according to her.

The man then approached the driver’s side door, displayed a handgun and began banging on the window, but she was able to drive away, unharmed, she told police.

Through further investigations, it was determined that the information Mack reported to the police was false, state police said.

On April 12, Mack turned herself in at Troop 2 and was charged with filing a false report. She was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
