Delaware State Police arrest a Smyrna man, a Dover man and a Dover woman after bullets hit homes in a neighborhood west of Smyrna near Bryn Zion and Mount Friendship roads.

Delaware State Police have arrested three suspects after reports of bullets hitting homes in a neighborhood near Smyrna Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to the reports at about 4:34 p.m., in the 200 block of Bryn Lane in a neighborhood near the intersection of Bryn Zion Road and Mount Friendship Road west of Smyrna.

A female resident had been in her bedroom when a bullet had entered the room from the north side of her home. The female wasn't injured.

Another person on Bryn Lane reported the front door of his residence had been struck by a bullet. The male wasn't injured either.

While troopers were searching the area, they saw a man, Joseph Swiggett, 27, of Smyrna, walking from a field towards Mount Friendship Road.

Two other people, identified as 27-year-old Anthony Price, 27, of Dover, and Symone Brooks, 24, of Dover, were also seen in the area.

Located in their vicinity was a box of unused 9 mm ammunition, and spent 9 mm, .45 caliber and used shotgun ammunition, police said.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a .45 caliber handgun and a shotgun in Swiggett's vehicle on Mount Friendship Road, police said. Then K-9 dog Marshall found a 9 mm handgun concealed in brush along the wood line of Mount Friendship Road.

Swigett, Brooks and Price were charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing and tampering with physical evidence, police said. Price was also charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Swigett was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released after posting $15,001 secured bond to await another court appearance.

Price was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $35,001 cash-only bond while awaiting another court appearance.

Brooks was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $15,001 secured bond while awaiting another court appearance.
