The MOT Charter School's First Inaugural Graduation was Saturday, June 2, in which 111 seniors, all of which have already been accepted to college, crossed the stage and officially became the first graduating class of the school.

Students were accepted to 142 different colleges and universities.

“In following our school wide model of class collaboration and an environment of support among students, like a family, we refrained from ranking students or selecting valedictorians,” said the school in a news release.

“Instead, every student in the class was invited to write and submit a message to share at graduation, and through a committee, including students, the favorite messages were chosen,” said the school in a news release.

In addition, the featured speaker was a teacher or staff member selected by the class. This year it was Tom Becker, a favorite math teacher and one who started the journey with the Class of 2018 four years ago.
