A 25-year-old Middletown man was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana March 6 after a traffic stop at 5:45 p.m. in the Lake Street and Broad Street area.
Middletown Police officer Josh Stafford said he observed the defendant, Jevon Young, of the 100 block of East Lockwood Street, driving a silver Lincoln. Stafford said he was aware that Young’s driving privileges had been suspended from a previous contact.
Stafford conducted a traffic stop, and said Young repeatedly attempted to exit the vehicle and was acting in a suspicious/nervous manner. Young consented to a search of his vehicle, which police said revealed 27 grams of suspected marijuana. Police said Young also possessed a digital scale.
Young was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for keeping a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned through JP Court 11, where he was given a $4,000 unsecured bond. He was also issued three traffic citations.
