A 27-year-old Towsend man was arrested March 5 by Middletown Police who were on a proactive patrol in the area of Main Street and Broad Street.
The incident began at 3:55 p.m. when officer John Stuart observed a Red Pontiac Grand AM being operated by Kory Watson, of the 600 block of South Street. Stuart said he knew that Watson had a suspended driver’s license and an active traffic warrant.
The vehicle was stopped. Police said a vehicle search produced a plastic baggie constaining 1.5 grams of cocaine and 38 Oxycodone pills. Watson was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a narcotic schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for keeping controlled substances, possession of a narcotic schedule II controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and an outstanding warrant for driving while suspended.
Watson was arraigned and issued a $1,638 secured bail. He released pending a preliminary hearing.
