A 40-year-old Middletown man was arrested Monday after Delaware State Police said he raped a 9-year-old girl five years ago.
Police said the alleged victim came forward in May, 2010 and said she was sexually assaulted by Ramon A. Rosado several times when he lived on Forest Creek Drive near Dover.
Several interviews were conducted with the victim, who is now 14, including an interview with the Children’s Advocacy Center. The victim said she was in fear and did not tell anyone until Rosado moved from the area.
At the conclusion of the interview, troopers obtained warrants for Rosado, and he was arrested at his home by Middletown and state police. Rosado was charged with first degree rape, three counts of second degree rape, four counts of first degree unlawful sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. He was committed to the Department of Correction in Smyrna in default of $132,000 cash bail.
